Jamestown (CSi) Jamestown Police reports a 12 and a half percent increase in calls for service over the last three months, compared to the same period a year ago.
Jamestown Police Chief Scott Edinger expects it to continue through the end of this year.
He says the police department is not seeing an increase in any specific area, but rather an overall increase in calls.
Edinger says as more construction projects begin in and around Jamestown, he expects calls for service to increase, and to get ready, Jamestown Police will hire two more police officers in 2015
Currently construction is underway at the Menards southwest Jamestown store site, with construction work expected to start at the CHS nitrogen fertilizer plant site near Spiritwood yet this fall.
Edinger adds that a well-managed crew camp near the construction site would help minimize any impact on the Jamestown community.
