WAHPETON, N.D. (AP) – The North Dakota State College of Science football team will have to forfeit four wins this season.
The school late last month suspended head football coach Merle Johnson indefinitely after reporting rules violations to the National Junior College Athletic Association. Officials said in a statement that the violations had to do with ineligible players.
Athletic Director Stu Engen says the NJCAA has ruled the Wildcats must forfeit four wins but will still be eligible for postseason play.
Defensive coordinator Eric Francis is serving as interim head coach.
