Jmst Tourism supports 1883 courthouse restore

Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown Tourism Board of Directors is on record to support The State Historical Society’s legislative request for $500,000 for 1883 Stutsman County Courthouse improvements.

the 1883 Courthouse Committee has pledged to raise $75,000 for the project to convert the historic courthouse a “usable” building.”

The next phase of work on the 1883 courthouse would include electrical, plumbing, water connection and bathroom renovations, encapsulating any lead-based paint, floor repair including sanding and refinishing, and exhibits.

With legislative approval , of the $500,000 work could possibly start sometime next year,

The City Council is also supporting the State Historical Socity’s funding request
