Valley City (CSi) – The North Dakota Highway Patrol rports, two separate serious crashes happened Sunday morning eight miles west of Valley City.
At 7:46 a.m., 32 year-old Philip Maxwell of Minot, lost control of his vehicle because icy conditions.
His vehicle rotated, slid into the median and rolled. He continued sliding across both eastbound lanes and into the south ditch. Maxwell was airlifted to Fargo and remains in serious condition. Two dogs were also in the vehicle at the time. One is being cared for and the other remains missing.
The second accident occured happened in the same area around 9:14 a.m., when 31 year-old Christoper Miller of Twin City, Georgia lost control of his pickup. Miller slid into the eastbound lane and into the path of a semi driven by 57 year-old Jack Nielsen. Miller was not wearing his seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. He suffered serious injuries and was transported to a Fargo hospital.
Both accidents remain under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
