NAIA, FCS, BCS Football Polls

Oct 23, 2012

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) – The Dakota Wesleyan football team is back in the NAIA poll.

The Tigers are at No. 25 in this week’s poll after a 28-24 win over previous No. 20 Doane over the weekend.

Doane has dropped out of the poll.

The University of Sioux Falls has moved up two spots to No. 21

in this week’s AFCA Division II poll, after a 32-31 double-overtime victory over Augustana College on Saturday.

No other teams in the Dakotas are ranked in either poll.

FARGO, N.D. (AP) – North Dakota State has moved up a spot to No.

3 in this week’s Football Championship Subdivision polls after a

54-0 drubbing of South Dakota on Saturday.

The defending national champion Bison also received some

first-place votes in both the coaches’ poll and The Sports Network poll. Eastern Washington sits atop both polls, followed by Georgia Southern.

South Dakota State got votes in both polls but did not crack the

Top 25 in either one. The Jackrabbits were upended by Northern Iowa 27-6 on Saturday.

The University of North Dakota received one vote in the TSN poll

after its 40-34 win over Montana.

NEW YORK (AP) – Kansas State has moved ahead of Oregon for No. 3

in the new BCS standings, behind SEC rivals Alabama and Florida.

The Wildcats’ big victory Saturday at West Virginia was enough

to nudge them past the Ducks, who are No. 2 in both polls but are

getting held back by computer ratings that lag behind the other

highly ranked teams.

The Crimson Tide is still solidly in first, and Florida grabbed

a firmer grip on second with a 44-11 victory over South Carolina on Saturday.

The Gators are tops in the computer ratings and Kansas State is

second. The Wildcats beat West Virginia 55-14 for their third Big

12 road victory.

Fourth-place Oregon is coming off a 43-21 win at Arizona State

and sits sixth in the computer ratings.
