The transfer requires approval from the Jamestown City Council and the Stutsman County Commission.

JSDC Board President Bob Toso, said the process of approving land sales at JSDC meetings may have discouraged some potential purchasers.

Owner, Dean Hafner, said he intends to build a $1.2 million building to house businesses involved in new home construction.

These businesses include his H and H Holdings, a construction company, an excavating company and unspecified businesses from Aberdeen and Bismarck.

Corey Bayer, owner of Marvel Homes in Jamestown, challenged the sale of the lots. He said he had attempted to purchase the same lots for a model home in 2012. His request was denied by the JSDC.
