Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown/Stutsman Development Corporations (JSDC) Executive Committee unanimously voted Wednesday to request a $500,000 loan from Stutsman County.
The loan is roughly half of the dollars needed to pay for automated switches required by BNSF at the Spiritwood Energy Park Association rail loop in Spiritwood Township.
The remaining $470,000 needed for the switches will be paid from uncommitted economic development funds held by the city of Jamestown and Stutsman County.
BNSF is requiring the $970,000 be paid by March 31, or it will not provide rail service to the rail loop.
