Jamestown (CSi) – A two car crash at 12:04 p.m., Monday, at the intersection of 1st Avenue South and 5th Street in downtown Jamestown led to a minor injury.
Jamestown Police officer Jensen reported that a 2008 Suzuki, operated by 23 year old Caitlin Fimek of Fullerton was southbound on 1st Avenue, south when she ran the red traffic light, striking a 2005 Jeep Cherokee operated by 56 year old Deborah Clemens of Jamestown, which was westbound on 5th Avenue crossing the intersection. The two vehicles continued from the impact to the driving lane on 1st Avenue, southbound.
The accident occured in front of Jamestown Area Ambulance Service.
Fimek was treated at the Ambulance Service for a minor injury. Fimek was cited for failure to stop at a red traffic light.
Damage to the Suzuki was estimated at about $4,500, and $3,000 to $3,500 to the Jeep.
The southbound driving lane in that block of 1st Avenue, was closed while the debris was picked up and the two inoperable vehicles were towed.
