VCPS Board opposes House Bill 1195

Valley City  (CSi)  The Valley City School board has voted 4 four to one to not support North Dakota House Bill 1195.

School  Board member Rick Ross voted against the motion.

The chief sponsor of the bill, is State District 24 Representative Dwight Kiefert of Valley City.

He has stated that he  believes this bill would give rural school districts a chance to respond to a school shooting. He says  the response time for police would be delayed greatly trying to get to a rural school in a remote area.
