Jamestown  (CSi)  The Frontier Village Association Board of Directors has approved booking in the summer of 2016,  the comedy team of Williams and Ree  for  two fundraising performances at Frontier Village.

The board authorized Frontier Village Manager Nichole Mosolf to pay a $1,000 date reservation plus $10,000 to the duo in addition to accommodations and local transportation.

FVB President,  Charlie Tanata says parking is an issue in holding the performances at the amphitheater, noting that there is a parking area next to the amphitheater and the parking lot of the National Buffalo Museum could also be used.

Board member Tina Busche  noted  parking at Frontier Village, and the possibility of  shuttle parking.

Board Vice President, Jay Diemert, board says securing an alternate performance site in case of bad weather was a bigger problem, and that the Civic Center is an alternate location

Tanata also suggested talking to  Jamestown Public Schools and the University of Jamestown to determine  if either the Jamestown High School auditorium or DeNault Auditorium  might be used as a backup.

Mosolf pointed out that  to break even on the event, the Association needs to sell 500 tickets at $20 a ticket. The amphitheater has benches that can accommodate 250, plus the  hillside for another 200 or so people.

In other business, the board voted to approve changing  its meeting time starting in June to 4 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month.

FrontierVillageBlacksmithIt was announced that the board will meet at 5:30 p.m. for the May 14th  meeting as requested by farrier Kevin Fettig of Fargo,  to discuss  the cost of  making  the blacksmith shop in the village a working blacksmith shop.

The Board approved  the Wild West Players holding a raffle during a street dance at the Frontier Village on August 14th, with the proceeds benefiting the horse shelter in the village. Tickets at  $5 with a first place prize of $250, second place is $150 and third place is $100.

Mosolf and Busche will be  going through a doll collection donated to the Frontier Village by the James River Eagles Club and sell the dolls they think are sellable.
