frontiervillage2Jamestown (CSi) The Frontier Village Association Board of Directors has reviewed a list of 17 projects compiled by Jamestown Tourism Executive Director Searle Swedlund that the board has committed itself to over the last two years.

Swedlund said he came up with the list by reviewing meeting minutes, saying the board  needs to determine how it wants to get these projects done.

The board plans to review the list of projects to determine how far work has progressed on any of those projects.

Board member Ann Hess said the biggest problem the board has with the  list of projects, is funding.

Frontier Village Board President Charlie Tanata said there has been work done on some of the projects on the list.

Frontier Village Manager Nicole Mosolf said the deck on the railroad depot, one of the listed items,  needs to be fixed and that  the entrance to the deck has been closed off until repairs are made.

On a related note, Swedlund said he will meet with City Engineer Reed Schwartzkopf on Monday to discuss a section of 3rd Avenue that runs through Frontier Village near a retaining wall that was built below a section of 3rd Avenue  above the amphitheater in 2007.

Swedlund said paying for work to improve the retaining wall or road will be a challenge, with estimates on the cost three years ago, at $100,000.
