Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown Downtown Association has announced a brand new Event for First Avenue. ‘Rods and Hogs,’ will take place on Saturday June 27th starting at Noon, and going to midnight.

Beginning at 6:00 a.m. 1st Ave North between 2nd St NW & 3rd St SE, will be closed to through traffic,

The side street along the route will be blocked off from 1st Avenue to the alleys,for the event and activities. Detour signage will be posted.

The streets will be reopened by 6:00 a.m. Sunday, June 28, 2015.

Set up of Classic Cars, Motorcycles, Mud Runners, Go Karts, demolition-derby cars, stock cars a Drag Racer start at 10:30 am.  Opening at 12 noon.

Area car dealers will have the latest models on display along with auto accessory companies.

Several retail businesses will be offering special sales, including Doorways To, Gifts from the Heart, and Gun “N Reel Sports.

Food Vendors next to the Arts Park, all day, featuring burgers, hot dogs, walking tacos sub sandwhiches, mini donuts, ice cream and beverages.  Picnic tables will be set up.

A kids fish pond game for free prizes sponsored by the Christian Motorcycle Club will be in front of the Maranatha Custom Churches building.

Cash prizes awarded at 5 pm, judged by the Jamestown Area Chamber Ambassadors to BEST CAR, sponsored by Klein’s Collision Center. BEST CYCLE, sponsored by Ypsi Bar & Grill. BEST CLUB PARTICIPATION, sponsored by First Community Credit Union.

Beer Gardens and Street Dance to Fully Loaded at 8:30 pm at the Corner Bar.

President of “Jamestown: Motor Sports Capitol of North Dakota,” Brian Kamlitz, is instrumental organizing the 22 area motorsports clubs to come on board for the street party concept, with members of 22 area motorsports organizations working on the event, with the Jamestown Downtown Association.

Participation is expected by:  James Valley Street Machines, Jamestown Classic Car Club, Christian Motorcycle Club, Individuals Motrocycle Club, Jamestown Speedway, Buffalo City Go Karting, Jamestown Drag Racing Association, Jamestown Demolition Derby, Dakota Motocross Club, Buffalo City RC Squadrom, James Valley Off Roaders, and the Southeast Pickup Pullers Association.

The Rods & Hogs event will also be a stop on the Prairie Riders Motorcycle Club’s, Suicide Prevention Run, “Run for Life.”
