Possible public input may be included in the schematic design. After review and approval from the TRAC Board and Jamestown Parks and Recreation Commission, the architect and engineers would move on to the design development stage where more detailed plans are developed by the beginning of September.
The architect would then develop construction documents through the winter with the project going for bids in January 2016 and construction starting in May 2016.
The TRAC Board and Jamestown Parks and Recreation will choose a three- or four-person building committee to meet with the architect every two weeks during the planning process.
Zerr Berg Architects will also assist Parks and Recreation in developing the interview process to select an engineering firm to assist in the management of the construction project.
Jamestown voters approved a 1 percent sales tax to pay for construction of TRAC on June 2. The $28.6 million facility will serve as a community and activity center. TRAC will include basketball courts, weight rooms, an exercise track, pool and water features and an indoor turf field under a dome.
