Jamestown (CSi) Mrs. ND America 2015 State Pageant Director, Mary Schwartzkopf, has announced that Christine Jorissen, Jamestown, has become Mrs. North Dakota America for 2015 to replace Hope Adam who has stepped down. Jorissen, the first runner-up at the May 2015 pageant, will assume the title and represent the State of North Dakota in 2015.
The new Mrs. North Dakota America, Christine Jorissen, will now begin her journey to represent North Dakota as the State Delegate at the 2015 Mrs. America Pageant, scheduled to be held in Las Vegas, NV, on September 20 -24, 2015. As the new State Delegate, Christine is eligible for the Fabulous Face Contest being conducted on the Mrs. America website. The winner of the contest will secure a place in the Top 10 during the Finals at the National Pageant.
The previous second runner-up, Shannon Smith-Eidson, Fargo, has also agreed to assume the role and responsibilities of the first runner-up. As the first runner-up, Shannon may now compete in a contest for the First-Runner-ups from every state to compete for the title of Mrs. National First Runner Up. The winner of that contest will secure a spot at the Mrs. America Pageant to compete along with the State Delegates for the title of Mrs. America 2016 in Las Vegas next month. These changes were necessitated when Hope Adam, originally crowned Mrs. North Dakota America 2015 in May, informed Schwartzkopf that she would not be able to fulfill her obligations to the State title.
The Mrs. North Dakota/America Pageant is the official state preliminary to the national event. It is also a stage from which women in North Dakota can promote family values, women causes and local charities. Mrs. ND- America state pageant is for married women that are at least 18 years of age – 60 + . She must be legally married at the time of competition, a North Dakota resident and a U.S. citizen. Applications for the 2016 pageant are available now.
