MINNEAPOLIS (AP Nov 30, 2012) – Ricky Rubio says his left knee feels great and he can’t wait to get back on the practice court with his Minnesota Timberwolves teammates for the first time this season after nearly nine months on the sideline.
Rubio met with reporters on Friday after being cleared by
doctors to begin full-contact practices on his surgically repaired
knee. He’s been out since tearing the ACL and LCL on March 9.
He’s still waiting to see how his knee responds to his first
contact practice before setting a date to play in his first game.
Rubio says it’s been difficult to be patient through the
process, but he feels pleased to be slightly ahead of schedule.
MINNEAPOLIS (AP Nov 28, 2012) – Ricky Rubio has been cleared to begin practicing with the Minnesota Timberwolves for the first time since tearing ligaments in his left knee last March.
Rubio met with the doctor who performed his surgery in Vail,
Colo., this week to get the final clearance, and the team announced
that he was given the green light Wednesday.
Rubio tore the ACL in his left knee in a game against the Lakers
on March 9. The Wolves have sorely missed their dynamic point
guard. They are 6-7 this season without him heading into a game
against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night.
The Timberwolves likely will be off on Thursday before playing
again Friday night. That means Rubio likely will practice for the
first time this weekend.
