Jamestown (CSi) A ballot issue expected in June of 2016 will be if the Stutsman County state’s attorney position should be elected or appointed.
The Stutsman County Commission has unanimously approved placing the question about the position on the ballot.
The action came after the commission discussed a request from Stutsman County State’s Attorney Fritz Fremgen to add another full-time attorney position to his office.
Stutsman County CEO Casey Bradley says if the public votes to change the position to an appointed position, the County Commission would have more options for addressing issues with the county state’s attorney office.
