Valley City, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) — On Friday (Dec 7, 2012) another flood buyout house in Valley City was being moved from its location near the river on the north end of Chautauqua Boulevard in Valley City.
The photo was taken on 6th Avenue, Northeast. Electric and television lines had to been removed to allow for the house to pass, causing a brief outage of service for homes in the neighborhood.
This was the second of three structures being removed, in that area with another waiting for removal. This home belonging to Larry and Margaret Doyle, was being moved east of town. In other instances, flood buyout structures are being demolished.
On Monday this week, (Dec 3, 2012) an incident occurred when a trackhoe tipped over sideways and into the empty basement of a building being demolished, one of the Valley City flood buyout properties. No one was injured in accident. The trackhoe is owned Paul Diegel, of Six-D’s Construction. That property is located on Main Street, near the Sheyenne River.
