Barnes issues burn ban, when fire rating warrants

Valley City (CSi)  The Barnes County Commission has declared a fire emergency and burn ban effective immediately…. whenever the North Dakota Fire Danger rating is “very high” or “extreme” or if a red flag warning has been issued for Barnes County.

The commissioners will decide at their October 20, 2015 meeting, the ban’s duration.

Violating the burn ban is a Class B misdemeanor, punishable by up to 30 days in jail and a $1,000 fine.
