JmstnPublicLibraryJamestown (CSi) The James River Valley Library System Board of Directors  discussed with JLG Architects of Fargo plans to recarpet the Alfred Dickey Public Library, and update wall coverings at an estimated cost of nearly $127,000.

The board unanimously passed, with board members Dale Marks and Jim Nyland not present, a motion to begin the process of formal bidding, open to the public to receive bids on the cost of the renovations.

Library Director, Joe Rector, is looking for external funding for the renovations, but also has $90,000 allotted in the library’s annual budget for building maintenance and repair.

Rector said he is excited about the renovations, and that it is important to take care of this building for the future.

In other business, the board will hold a special meeting November 18, 2015 at 4:30 p.m. to discuss the bookmobile bids again.

The next regular library board meeting is at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 16 at the Alfred Dickey Public Library.
