Jamestown (CSi) The Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign begins Novmber 13, 2015, and volunteers will be ringing the bells at the red kettles in the community through December 24th
The kickoff was November 13th at noon in front of Sears in the Buffalo Mall.
This year’s goal is to raise $156,000 that will help provide items for the food pantry, clothing, furniture, help with rent assistance, utility and transportation assistance, emergency lodging and prescription assistance on occasion.
This season red kettle locations include two spots at the Park Plaza Shopping Center at both entrances to Cashwise. Three red kettles will be located at the Buffalo Mall – two at entrances to Home of Economy, and a third will be at Sears, where there will be a small kickoff event at noon November. 13th. The only outdoor red kettle this season will be in front of Wal-Mart.
Volunteers will work in two-hour shifts from Monday through Saturday during store hours of the businesses where the red kettles are located.

The Angel Tree program involves community members visiting the trees set up at various locations around Jamesstown with the main tree at the Buffalo Mall.
Children’s wish lists are on the tree. The public is invited to take a card, purchase one or more of the gifts on the list and drop them off with the card at the Salvation Army, on First Avenue South.
The Angel Tree cards will be on the trees about a week before Thanksgiving, and gifts should be brought to the Salvation Army by the second week of December, she said. The gifts will be distributed to the parents on Dec. 16.
Children may sign up for the program through Friday at the Salvation Army.
