Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) — The Jamestown City Fire Department was called to a kitchen fire in one unit of a duplex at 1407 7th Avenue, Southwest.
Lt. Sheldon Mohr says the call came in at 3:44 a.m., on Wednesday (Dec 12, 2012).
When the five city fire units, and 27 fire fighters arrived on the scene smoke a flames were coming from kitchen area of the unit.
Lt. Mohr said a newspaper carrier, Pat Dunwoody called 9-1-1, and alerted the residents to the fire.
Dunwoody pulled the female occupant of the home out of house to safety,as the kitchen was engulfed in flames and smoke with visibility about 15 feet.
No injuries reported.
Extensive fire damage was reported to the kitchen, and smoke damage to the rest of the unit.
No damage was reported to the adjacent unit of the duplex.
The cause of the fire in under investigation.
The City Fire Department was on the scene about and hour and a half.
