The proposal for the bookmobile is priced at $230,860 and is from OBS Inc., an Ohio company that designs and builds speciality vehicles. The board reviewed two other bids from Matthew sSpecialty Vehicles based in Greensboro, N.C., and LDV Inc. based in Burlington, Wis.

JRVLSbmInteriorThe board had accepted a $243,000 bid from OBS Inc. but during a special meeting on October 5th, the board rejected the bid after library director, Joe Rector, discussed the bid further with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and an attorney. Rector said in October that the bid didn’t include signed documentation necessary to finalize the proposal.

The board also unanimously approved a 4 percent pay raise for all JRVLS employees.
