The cause was listed in a faulty ceiling heat  fan in the bathroom, which caused a smoldering  fire.

Fire fighters pulled out attic insulation, after the owner had removed the ceiling fan, which the fire department removed from the home, to prevent a rekindle.

Fire damage was confined to the bathroom, and attic rafters.

No  injuries were reported.

The residents, Jim and Diane Nygaard were able to remain in their home.

Five City Fire Department units and 21 firefighters were on the scene for about an hour and a half.
