Jamestown City Fire Chief Jim Reuther, says, six units and 29 fire fighters responded to a report of a garage fire at 611 3rd Avenue Southeast at about 7:30 p.m.

The fire was extinguished by the homeowner when the units arrived. Units returned to the fire hall by 8 p.m.

Reuther says, the fire started with a meat smoker and spread to some nearby cardboard in the garage.

A resident of the home was transported by Jamestown Ambulance to JRMC for possible treatment of smoke inhalation.

Damage from the fire was minimal.
