barnesmuseumValley City  (CSi)  The Barnes County Historical Society Lecture Series Season 18 Presents: Dr. James and Sharon Buhr “Mystical India” 7PM Thursday January 21st at the Barnes County Museum.

Mystical and spiritual, chaotic and confounding, India overflows with riches.  Dr. James and Sharon Buhr traveled the classic Golden Triangle from Delhi to Agra (home of the sublime Taj Mahal) to Jaipur (the great city of the Rajput).  Plus they searched for the elusive Bengal tigers at Ranthambore Tiger Preserve; admired Khajuraho’s ancient temples (Hindu and Jain); and absorb the holiness of Varanasi (the city where Hindus desire to die).

The Buhrs have lived in Valley City since 1980, working at Sanford Health and CHI Mercy Health.

They have been medical missionaries to South Africa, Liberia and the Central African Republic.

Both are committed to helping our county be the healthiest in North Dakota.

The public is cordially invited

All Lectures are at the Barnes County Historical Society Museum and held in conjunction with Valley City State University.  They are free and open to the public.
