UJfullJamestown (CSi) The University of Jamestown is the best college in North Dakota according to a recent Business Insider article, “The best college in every state.”

Business Insider referenced the rankings from Niche.com, a site that gathers information on about 1,700 public and private institutions nationally, including MIT, Ohio State, and NYU. The data is taken from the U.S. Department of Education, student surveys, and other public sources.

A UJ junior’s quote from Niche is highlighted in the ranking. “You can be in as little or as much as you want. We’re a pretty involved campus. The education is top-notch and the professors genuinely care about you, whether you are in their department or not. Our student activities department rocks. There’s always an event going on.”

The ranking process takes many institutional aspects into account with academics, professors, student surveys, athletics, value, student life, and safety making up over 80% of the ranking value.

UJ President, Bob Badal says, “Rankings do play a role in the higher education market,” and the University of Jamestown has always been proud to be at the top among the ranked ND institutions in the US News rankings; now we find ourselves as the #1 ranked school in North Dakota according to an MSN featured article. We are proud to own it and to live it out every day working with our faculty and students.”

The University of Jamestown was established in 1883 and is ranked as a top tier regional school in US News and World Report and a top Midwestern school in The Princeton Review. The school features development of the whole person through its distinctive Journey to Success experience.
