BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – A longtime football coach, a former major leaguer and twin hockey-playing sisters are being inducted into the North Dakota Sports Hall of Fame.
A banquet will be held to honor Hank Biesiot, Travis Hafner and Jocelyn and Monique Lamoureux on June 11.
Biesiot was a standout baseball and football player at Mayville State University. After taking over as head football coach at Dickinson State University in 1975, he lead his teams to 17 conference titles.
Hafner, a Jamestown native, enjoyed a 12-year career in the majors, mostly with the Cleveland Indians. He’s a lifetime .273 hitter, and his .659 slugging percentage was tops in 2006.
Twin sisters Jocelyn and Monique Lamoureux excelled at UND, leading the squad to 20 wins in each of their three seasons in Grand Forks.
