(CSi)  20 year old Roddy  Gentzkow, Jr., of LaMoure,  is facing criminal vehicular homicide charges in connection with a drunk driving crash that killed his passenger. He was given a $50,000 surety appearance bond or a $5,000 dollar cash bond, at his Wednesday court appearance.  He posted bail out of the Barnes County jail.

Gentzkow will be under house arrest and cannot consume alcohol.  Authorities say Gentzkow drove his truck off the road and hit a tree at 3:15 a.m., Friday morning, in LaMoure.

His passenger, 25-year old Joshua Dahlen of LaMoure was killed in the crash. He can not  have contact with the Dahlen family.

Neither man was wearing a seatbelt.  Gentzkow has two previous charges on his record for a minor possessing and consuming alcohol. His next court appearance is in March.

WDAY reports, Roddy Gentzkow will have his first bond hearing Wednesday morning. He was in Barnes County jail Tuesday night.

Authorities say Gentzkow drove his truck off the road and hit a tree at 3 Friday morning.  25-year old Joshua Dahlen was killed in the crash.  Neither man was wearing a seatbelt.

Gentzgow has two previous charges on his record for a minor possessing and consuming alcohol.

UPDATED — LAMOURE, N.D. (AP) –  The North Dakota Highway Patrol has released the names of the victims in a one vehicle head-on collision Friday morning  at 3:15, in LaMoure.

The Highway Patrol says a pickup truck operated by 20 year old Roddy Gentzkow, Jr., of LaMoure, was  traveling at a high speed went off a street and struck a tree about 3:15 a.m. Friday, in the 400 block of 1st St NE., in LaMoure.

The passenger, 25 year old Joshua Dahlen of LaMoure was pronounced dead at the Oakes hospital. Gentzkow  was injured, also taken to the Oakes Hospital by LaMoure Ambulance Service, and arrested for driving under the influence.

The crash remains under investigation by the NDHP.

Assisting at the scene were: The LaMoure County Sheriff’s Office, LaMoure Fire Department, LaMoure Ambulance, and the LaMoure Police Department.
