(CSi) The North Dakota Music Awards of 2016 categories have been announced and a Jamestown educator has been nominated for an award.
Ken Aune, the Instrumental Music Educator at Jamestown Middle School, has been nominated for the “Favorite Music Educator” of the year award. Aune conducts band for grades 6th, 7th, and 8th.
Music Booster President Michelle Weatherly says that the kids love and respect him. They can vote for just Ken Aune or all the other categories if they choose. Vote on line: www.ndmusicawards.com
The North Dakota Music Awards is described as “Like the Grammy’s meet the AMA’s; North Dakota Style. It’s a way to celebrate and honor North Dakota Musicians in all genres of music.” The event will be February 13th at the Belle Mehus Auditorium in Bismarck, ND.
He is nominated with Derrick Dixon, Belcourt; Chris Harvey, Hazen; and Bob Peske, Bismarck High School. Joe Schmidt of Medina was nominated in three categories — Favorite Christian Band/Group, Favorite Male Vocalist and Favorite Music Video.
