Jamestown, ND (KCSIt.v. News Dec 23, 2012) — An incident Sunday evening shortly after 7- O’Clock at the Stutsman County Correctional Center, is under investigation.
Jamestown Police and the Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office were called to assist with approximately eight inmates creating a disturbance.
According to dispatch, authorities discoverd smoke coming from a small cell in a main cell block.
Inmates in the cell were taken to another secure portion of the correctional center.
The Jamestown City Fire Department was called to extract smoke.
The majority of smoke had dissipated, when fire fighters arrived, and reviewed and surveyed the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
