FARGO, N.D. (AP Dec 27, 2012) – The Football Championship Subdivision title game is a rematch, but coaches from both schools say their teams are different from a year ago.
North Dakota State and Sam Houston State will play for the championship on Jan. 5 in Frisco, Texas. The Bison won 17-6 last year.
Bearkats coach Willie Fritz says he has more experienced players than a year ago. Bison coach Craig Bohl says the opposite is true with his team, which he says is “not near as veteran” as last year.
Sam Houston also revamped its offense to beef up its passing game, which could help since the Bison are No. 3 in the FCS against the rush.
A teleconference with the two coaches was held Thursday afternoon.
