Jamestown (CSi) The James River Valley Library System Board heard a report Monday from Development Director Bill Kennedy who said the bookmobile campaign has raised $44,000 so far, with 51 new donors. The bookmobile costs nearly $231,000, and the board approved the bookmobile bid in November from OBS Inc., a company that makes specialty vehicles based in Ohio.
Director, Joe Rector reported that the children’s library will be having new lights put in this week, most likely on Thursday or Friday. The children’s section of the library will be closed during this installation, which will be from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
In other business, the of Directors unanimously elected a new secretary and treasurer.
Char Freeberg, former board member, served her last meeting as secretary on Monday. Gary Rife, who was absent, also served his last meeting as a board member. Rife and Freeberg are no longer a part of the board because their terms ended.
Board member Jim Nyland will be the board’s new treasurer, and board member Sue Anderson is the board’s new secretary.
The board also unanimously approved a motion that allows all board members to sign financial documents, such as paychecks on Monday.
