Jamestown (CSi) At Monday evening’s meeting of United Sportsmen of North Dakota Jamestown Chapter, area residents joined in to discuss finding a location for a gun range.
Curt Kaseman said the group has hired an attorney and public accountant, and signed an article of incorporation to make the “Jamestown Marksmanship Education Range,” a non-profit organization and allow the group to hold fundraisers.
Kaseman stated that the cost of the project will depend on community involvement, similar the newly constructed Bismarck Rifle Range.
Also in the plans is a well established road to the property, a high natural back stop, the ability to have power and water, and no structures down range from the firing line.
Kaseman has been asking several land owners within a 6-mile radius if they would be willing to give land to the project.
