Fire_6149thAveSEJamestown (CSi) The Jamestown Fire Department was called to a house fire about 1:47-a.m.Tuesday, March 8th, at 614 9th Avenue Southeast.

Lt. Sheldon Mohr stated that the fire was on the deck at the front of the home when they arrived.

Two occupants escaped unharmed.

He says the house sustained considerable damage.

30 fire fighters and five city fire units responded.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Local American Red Cross volunteers were on the scene to assist the family with immediate needs like shelter, clothing and food. The family is staying at a hotel in Jamestown that participates in the American Red Cross through the Rooms for Red Cross program.
