Valley City (CSi) Join VCSU the week,of April 11–15, as they celebrate National Library Week with events for the VCSU community. All events are open to anyone who wishes to participate!
Monday 11th at 1 p.m., Armando Ramos will join us as we preview our new Makerspace with a book art workshop, where we will transform an old library book into something more unexpected and captivating.
Tuesday 12th will offer another chance to transform old books with drop-in Blackout poetry a method of blacking out unwanted words on a page of text to create a poem with the words that remain.
On Wednesday, 13th we’ll celebrate North Dakota Library Snapshot Day with a photo contest. Students are invited to take and submit their most creative, artistic, fun, etc. photo of or at the library, and library staff will vote on our favorite to win a prize!
On Thursday 14th from 2-4pm, David DeMuth and Physics 299 students will help us transform the old Learning Center into a Makerspace with an Arduino workshop. Embedded systems using the Arduino microcontroller allow you to experiment with all sorts of projects, many of which can be found on numerous websites that encourage DIY fun.
Friday 15th afternoon, get ready for the weekend as the library transforms into a retro arcade! Join us for snacks and classic arcade and computer games like Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Oregon Trail, and Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego.
