VC 8th Av SW detours starts April 11

Valley City (CSi) Starting Monday April 11, 2016, Valley City motorists will experience a detour on 8th Avenue Southwest. KLJ reports that, the Valley City Parks and Recreation Wellness, Health and Physical Education Facility project will require working in the intersection of Viking Drive and 8th Avenue Southwest .  Views of the Wellness Center construction site 

8th Avenue Southwest will be closed to all through traffic starting Monday, April 11th.

A detour will be in place during the closure. The road is expected be open before the May 14, 2016 VCSU spring commencement ceremony.

Residents and parents of children who attend Washington Elementary will have to plan ahead and use a detour to get their children to school.

Other closures, include Viking Drive and College Street because of the permanent flood protection project.
