LeedsGlennValley City (CSi) Valley City Police continue to investigate a felon in possession of multiple firearms in Valley City with the arrest on Saturday afternoon.

Valley City Police Chief Fred Thompson, says the man was arrested stemming from a call about 4:10-p.m.,

Valley City Police Lt. David Swenson and Officer Wade Hannig observed Glenn Leeds as the driver of a white pickup truck exiting the parking lot of Moe’s Eats in Valley City. The police were familiar with Leeds from prior contacts and a check with Barnes County Communications Center revealed Leeds’ Nebraska license was revoked.

They followed Leeds to his destination at 324 6th Avenue, Southwest  in Valley City and placed him under arrest for driving with a suspended or revoked license. While still at the scene Leeds requested the officers contact a friend at his apartment to obtain his wallet and cellphone before being transported to Barnes County Corrections for booking.

Lt. Swenson went to the apartment where a man answering the door identified himself as someone fixing Leeds’ computer. While obtaining Leeds’ possessions Swenson observed two AR-15 type rifles on a desk with the barrels pointing toward the apartment entry.

A criminal history records check revealed that Leeds’ has a “Nebraska Convicted Felon – No Gun Sale” court order. Leeds provided a consent to search the apartment where officers located eight firearms and ammunition that were impounded as evidence for additional charges of felon in possession of a firearm.
