VotebuttonsjpgValley City (CSi) Four Valley City residents will seek election in the June 14th elections, running for two city commission seats up for election.

Filing are Mike Bishop, Jeff Edwards, Mary Lee Nielson and Rick Ross.

Madeline Luke had previously announced that she is not seeking re-election.

Two candidates have filed for the Barnes County Commission race. Robert “Bob” Drake will be running for the seat now held by John Froehlich. And Leroy Triebold will be running for the seat now held by Cynthia Schwehr.

In the Valley City Park Board race Dick Gulmon and Ross Powell are running unopposed.

In the school board race Joyce Braunagel and Val Mortiz are running unopposed.

And Valley City Municipal Judge Thomas Goven is also running unopposed.

 

District 24 Republicans and Democrats have nominated state house and senate candidates for the 2016 elections.

Republicans nominated Eldred Knutson to run for the state Senate. Also nominated was State Representative Dwight Kiefert to run for another term.

Republicans nominated Daniel Johnston of rural Fort Ransom to run for State Representative.

District 24 includes Barnes and a small portion of Cass and Ransom Counties.

The District 24 Democratic-NPL Party has nominated Larry Robinson for the North Dakota State Senate, along with Naomi Muscha and Sharon Buhr for North Dakota House of Representatives.
