Authorities allege 35-year-old Daylen Griffin and his 24-year-old girlfriend, Sarah Jancovic, had three children younger than 11 in their car when they tried to sell marijuana to an undercover officer.
The two face felony child neglect and felony and misdemeanor drug charges. Jancovic could face up to 26 years in prison and Griffin up to 36 years if they’re convicted on all counts.

Ratliff says his lawyer didn’t call an alibi witness, among other failures.
In world and national news…
WASHINGTON (AP) – Donald Trump is accusing President Barack Obama of putting U.S. enemies ahead of the nation’s allies, and ahead of the American people. In an emailed response to questions Tuesday, Trump responded to criticism from Obama — who denounced Trump’s anti-Muslim rhetoric. Obama said Trump’s plan to temporarily ban foreign Muslims from entering the United States won’t make the nation safer.
WASHINGTON (AP) – Bernie Sanders is lashing out at “bigotry” in the response to the attack at an Orlando gay nightclub. He says the attack was committed by one man, not by an entire religion. Sanders told reporters in Washington, “The Muslim people did not commit this horrific act. A man named Omar Mateen did.” And Sanders said the nation must not allow politicians — whether Donald Trump or others — “to divide us.” He spoke on the day of the District of Columbia primary, the last primary of this presidential campaign season. He plans to meet privately this evening in Washington with Hillary Clinton and then take part in an online town hall with supporters.
WASHINGTON (AP) – A law enforcement official says investigators who have spoken with the Orlando gunman’s wife are looking into whether the two of them were recently at or outside the nightclub he attacked. The official says investigators had been told that Omar Mateen and his wife had been at the Pulse nightclub on a prior occasion and were trying to confirm the accuracy of that statement. The official says the FBI has Mateen’s phone and will try to use data from it to see if he had visited the club before. According to the official, investigators have not ruled out charging anyone who may have had advance knowledge of the attack.
LOS ANGELES (AP) – An Indiana man has been charged with felony weapons violations after California authorities say he was found with three assault rifles and explosive chemicals in his car ahead of a major gay pride parade. James Howell was charged Tuesday in Los Angeles County. Police say Howell was arrested Sunday in Santa Monica with the weapons and explosive materials in a car he apparently drove from Indiana. Howell told police he was headed to a gay pride event in West Hollywood that attracts hundreds of thousands of people.
HOUSTON (AP) – A judge in Texas is dismissing a misdemeanor charge against an anti-abortion activist. David Daleiden (duh-LY’-den) was accused of trying to buy human organs while making an undercover video looking into Planned Parenthood practices. His attorneys call the dismissal a victory for the anti-abortion movement and say they’re working to have a felony charge against him dropped too. Legal experts say the charge was dismissed on a technicality.
