Valley City (CSi) Prairie Paws Rescue, in Jamestown assisted the Barnes County Sheriff’s Office when 64 dogs were seized in the county by the North Dakota Veterinarians Office .
The Office recommended that the dogs be confiscated from the property.
Prairie Paws Rescue is assisting the Barnes County Sheriff’s Office in the care of the dogs, as the investigation continues.
Prairie Paws is now asking for donations of dog food, treats, toys, and chew bones.
Donations of money also accepted to help with on-going expenses like gas, transportion, and supplies for the upkeep of temporary kennels.

Jamestown (CSi) A New Rockford man has been arrested in connection with a 45 minute Jamestown Police pursuit that covered 35-miles early Monday, starting just after 2-a.m. from Southeast Jamestown.
Lt. Justin Blinsky, says the pursuit started when the vehicle took off after officers tried a traffic stop.
The chase continued on County Road 39 into the county, going into Ypsalanti, ending when spike strips were put down, to blow the tires, near County Road 38.
The driver 36 year old Joseph Barnett, from New Rockford, was charged with DUI, Driving with a Revoked License, Attempting to Elude Police, and Reckless Endangerment. The passenger from Fargo had an outstanding warrant against him as did the driver.
Along with Jamestown Police Department, the Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office and North Dakota Highway Patrol were involved.
He is accused on June 2nd of leading law enforcement on another chase after reportedly driving off from a gas station in Northeast Jamestown, that led authorities north of Jamestown and into Foster County.
Valley City (CSi) Rally in the Valley continues Friday in Valley City, following Thursday evening’s Downtown Party on Central Avenue from 5-p.m., to 8-p.m. The Valley City Area Chamber of Commerce, Event Coordinator, Jerilyn Beckman says Saturday’s events are highlighted by the parade on Central Avenue starting at 10-a.m. As of Thursday afternoon about 60 parade entries had been received not including the classic cars, fire department law enforcement vehicles, and tractors.
The Bridge City Cruisers Car Show, starts at 11-a.m., at Central and Main.
The Saturday activities start off at 8-a.m. the 35th Annual Bill Jansen Road Race/Walk at Hi-Line Park.

From 9-a.m. to 5-p.m. the Arts & Crafts Fair (Veteran’s Park)

She added that at 1-p.m., it’s the Rubber Duck Race at City Park Footbridge, and as of Thursday afternoon 1,000 tickets had been sold with proceeds going to the local Boy Scouts, who are in charge of the event.

Valley City (CSi) The Barnes County Relay for Life is Friday June 17, 2016, at the Barnes County Courthouse from 6-p.m., to midnight.
At 11:30 a.m., to 1-p.m., lunch will be provided by Valley Meats.
At last report, eight teams and 51 participants will be involved, raising to date, $23,552.75.

Jamestown (CSi) The community is invited to volunteer with additional plantings at the Hansen Arts Park in Downtown Jamestown.
On Thursday’s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, Jamestown Arts Center, Director, Cyndi Wish said hedges will be planted along the wall, and volunteers may show up at the Arts Park on Tuesday June 21, 2016, between 4-p.m., and 7 or 8-p.m. Most supplies will be provided but bring along gloves or shovels if you want.
Volunteers are always needed for weeding at the Park.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – Bismarck police are looking for help finding a missing 34-year-old Dickinson woman.
Authorities say Loretta Sagataw has been missing since June 9, when she was last seen in Bismarck.
Police say Sagataw’s last known address in Dickinson has been vacant since April. People with information about her location should call the Bismarck Police Department.
STANTON, N.D. (AP) – A Stanton couple has been charged with felony child endangerment for allegedly exposing two children under 5 to methamphetamine.
40-year-old Cindy Sailer and 45-year-old Duran Sailer have been charged in the case. Authorities say a hair follicle test showed the positive result.
They also face charges for drug paraphernalia possession.
An attorney for Duran Sailer didn’t answer a telephone call, while Cindy Sailer’s lawyer declined to comment.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – Bobcat Co. says it is bringing its compact excavator manufacturing to the company’s manufacturing facility in Bismarck.
The company plans to bring on 160 employees in Bismarck.
The West Fargo-based company makes light construction equipment.
Laura Ness Owens of Bobcat says that Bismarck provides the resources, manufacturing space and greater capacity the company needs to remain successful in the excavator market.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – A Bismarck charter aviation company says a lawsuit filed by a Minot helicopter pilot alleging age discrimination has no merit and should be thrown out of federal court.
Gregory Kurtz was fired by Executive Air Taxi Corp. in 2014 after a dispute over his salary. He says company officials told him they believed it was time for him to retire. He was 56 years old at the time.
Kurtz says he is owed money from unpaid compensation he was denied primarily because of his National Guard duty. He says he should either get his job back or be paid unspecified damages.
Executive Air Taxi denies that it discriminated against Kurtz for any reason and says he has not suffered any damages that were the result of conduct by the company.
MOHALL, N.D. (AP) – The state Health Department says nearly 9,000 gallons of what is known as produced water spilled and was contained in Renville County.
Produced water is a mixture of saltwater and oil that can contain drilling chemicals. The spill happened Tuesday at a site operated by Zargon Oil Inc. about 7 miles south of Mohall.
Zargon estimates that 210 barrels spilled due to a valve or pipe connection leak and was contained within a tank berm and a man-made pond. A barrel holds 42 gallons.
State inspectors have been to the scene and will continue to monitor the site.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – North Dakota parents who are behind on child support are getting a chance to catch up. The state is granting amnesty and returning suspended driver’s licenses to anyone who sets up a payment plan this month. For every $2 a person pays toward past-due support, the state will kick in $1 toward accrued interest or money owed to the state.
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) – A monthly survey of bankers suggests there’s been a slight improvement in the weak economic outlook for rural areas of 10 Western and Plains states.
A report issued Thursday on the Rural Mainstreet Index says it rose to 43.9 this month from 40.9 in May. Survey officials say any score below 50 on any of the survey’s indexes suggests that factor will decline.
Creighton University economist Ernie Goss oversees the survey, and he says the overall index has remained below growth neutral for 10 months. He says that over the past 12 months, farm prices are down 9.5 percent, grain prices are off 4 percent and livestock prices are down 15 percent.
Bankers from Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming were surveyed.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – Some of North Dakota’s larger cities elected mayors on Tuesday.
In Grand Forks, incumbent Mayor Mike Brown won a fifth term.
Former Mandan Mayor Tim Helbling reclaimed the role of city leader that he held from 2008 to 2012.
In Dickinson, City Commissioner Scott Decker was voted the group’s president, making him the unofficial mayor.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – One of North Dakota’s longest-serving lawmakers has lost his bid for re-election.
Rep. William Kretschmar of Venturia has served in the Legislature since 1973. He and Rep. Mike Brandenburg of Edgeley were looking to save their seats in the Tuesday primary from GOP challengers Jeff Magrum of Hazelton and Barton Schott of Kulm.
Brandenburg and Magrum were the top vote-getters in south-central North Dakota’s District 28.
In House contests, the top two finishers advance to the November election. Brandenburg and Magrum are unopposed by Democrats in the election.
With Kretschmar’s defeat, Republican Rep. Bob Martinson of Bismarck will be the longest-serving lawmaker. He also began his term in 1973.
In southwestern North Dakota’s District 36, Luke Simons of Dickinson defeated GOP House incumbent Alan Fehr of Dickinson.
In world and national news….
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) – President Barack Obama has been meeting with survivors of the Orlando nightclub shooting and the families of the victims in downtown Orlando. Obama arrived Thursday afternoon at the Amway Center, where the NBA’s Orlando Magic play. He was expected to spend several hours meeting in private to offer condolences. Vice President Joe Biden is joining Obama for the meetings. Before sitting down with families and survivors, Obama and Biden met with law enforcement officials. The White House says they thanked the officials for their response to the attack Sunday at a gay nightclub.
WASHINGTON (AP) – The House has narrowly defeated an attempt to bar immigrants living in the country illegally from enlisting in the U.S. military. The sponsor of the amendment, Republican Paul Gosar of Arizona, said he wanted to close what he called a “backdoor amnesty program” from President Barack Obama. But opponents of the measure linked it to Donald Trump’s presidential campaign. The potential recruits were brought to the U.S. illegally as children. They are protected from deportation under the Obama administration’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.
NEW YORK (AP) – The government is reporting that three babies have been born in the U.S. with birth defects caused by the Zika virus. Birth defects from Zika were also seen in three other pregnancies that ended. Thursday’s report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is the first accounting of pregnancy outcomes in the U.S. that involve an infection with the mosquito-borne virus. The CDC says 234 pregnant women in the United States – residents and visitors – have been diagnosed with Zika. Most of the pregnancies are ongoing. All the cases are connected to travel to areas with Zika outbreaks.
JERUSALEM (AP) – The man who recently resigned as Israel’s defense minister says he will challenge Benjamin Netanyahu in the country’s next election. Moshe Yaalon (MOH’-shuh YAH’-uh-lohn) is accusing the prime minister of scaring the public with exaggerated security threats. And he says Netanyahu has allowed a “radical minority” to take over the government.
NEW YORK (AP) – The creator and star of the Broadway hit musical “Hamilton” is leaving the show this summer. Lin-Manuel Miranda has been in the show since it first appeared off-Broadway early last year. His last show will be on July 9th. But he says he’ll return “again and again.” Miranda will be keeping busy. He has a major role opposite Emily Blunt in a film sequel of “Mary Poppins.” And he will help turn his musical “In the Heights” into a movie.
