Pipestem Dam Manager, Bob Martin says the Pipestem Dam will make a release of 100 cfs on Friday, only, between 8-a.m., and 4-p.m., and then the release will be completely shut off.
He points out that Pipestem Reservoir is only four and a half feet above conservation pool. If the release remained at 100 cfs, the lake would be drawn down to conservation pool in 25 days, given current weather conditions.
At Jamestown Reservoir the 5 cfs release was stopped on Monday this week, so after 4-p.m., Friday no releases will be made from either dam, for the foreseeable future, depending on rainfall amounts, and runoff that may occur.

ELLENDALE, N.D. (AP) – An 18-month old boy who was reported lost in a cornfield near the North Dakota and South Dakota border, on Thursday has been found unharmed.
Dickey County Emergency Management Director Charles Russell says the boy was found Thursday afternoon, about four hours after he went missing. Russell says the toddler, who was only wearing a diaper, is fine and “just got some sunburn.”
The search for the toddler was challenging because the corn on the farm is about 6 feet tall. The search party included a drone from the sheriff’s office in Brown County, South Dakota, and two civilian airplanes.
The farm is located south of Ellendale.

FARGO, N.D. (AP) – Police have charged a man with murder in the death of a woman whose body was discovered in a Fargo town house in mid-May.
An arrest warrant was issued Thursday for 22-year-old Landon Lauwagie (loo-WAG’-ee). He’s charged with murder and gross sexual imposition in the death of 40-year-old Cory Terlecky on or about May 14.
Authorities allege in court documents that Lauwagie sexually assaulted Terlecky and that she died of asphyxiation.
Lauwagie could life in prison without parole if convicted of either charge. Court documents don’t list an attorney for him, and a home telephone listing for him couldn’t be found.
Cass County State’s Attorney Birch Burdick says Lauwagie is in the court system in Minnesota, and prosecutors will seek to have him extradited back to North Dakota.
MEDORA, N.D. (AP) – Law enforcement authorities say a 64-year-old North Dakota man has died in a vehicle crash on an Interstate 94 exit ramp near Medora.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the Belfield resident died Wednesday.
Authorities say the man, who was driving a truck trailer, failed to negotiate a curve as he was exiting the interstate. A report from the Highway Patrol states that the vehicle tipped onto its side, traveled through the guardrail just before the I-94 overpass and came to rest upside down.
The Highway Patrol did not release the man’s name Thursday. The agency says the crash remains under investigation.

Bactrian camels have two humps and are critically endangered in the wild. There are fewer than 1,000 surviving wild camels.
Zoo officials say the calf is Sadie’s third baby.
The calf does not have a name yet. Officials say it will be sold or traded to another zoo when it grows up.

WASHINGTON (AP) – It’s one of the last remaining bans on military service — and now, it’s being dropped. The Pentagon says transgender people will be allowed to serve openly in the U.S. military. Defense Secretary Ash Carter says transgender people who enlist will still have to meet the necessary standards, and will have to have been stable in their identified gender for 18 months.
NEW YORK (AP) – A team of experts finds that about 1.4 million adults in the U.S. identify as transgender, double the estimate from a decade ago. The survey that was released today calculates that six-tenths of one-percent of U.S. adults are transgender. The new survey was conducted by four scholars and analysts affiliated with the Williams Institute. It’s a think tank at the UCLA School of Law that specializes in research on issues affecting gay and transgender people.
ISTANBUL (AP) – Authorities in Turkey have been raiding neighborhoods of Istanbul, looking for suspects linked to the Islamic State group. WASHINGTON (AP) – A Navy investigative report says the 10 sailors who were detained by Iran in the Persian Gulf in January were poorly prepared to avoid the encounter and in some cases failed to follow a military code of conduct while in captivity. The report was released by the Navy Thursday. It also says if the sailors’ boats had been properly monitored from the air or water, the Iranians probably would have been unable to board the vessels and detain the Americans.
