JFD fire call at SW Jamestown strip mall

Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown City Fire Department was called out on Friday at 3:12-p.m. to 2619 8^th Avenue, Southwest, the strip mall location.

City Fire Chief Jim Reuther says a suite in the mall that is undergoing renovations for a new business had smoke, he said smelled electrical in nature, which went through the ventilation system through the roof vent.

The fire department checked the roof area with a ladder unit.

The smoke was extracted from the building.

He suggested that the owners have the air conditioning unit check for any electrical problems.

No official cause was determined.

Six city fire units and 20 firefighters were on the scene about 40 minutes
