jcc-xtmastree2016aJamestown (CSi)  The Jamestown Community Christmas tree is in place and ready to have its lights turned on.

Jamestown City Forester Sherry Steckler say the tree was donated from a residence on 5th Street Northeast near the new TRAC facility.

She says the spruce tree stands over 50 feet tall and was cut by a city crew and moved to the location outside the west front entrance of the Jamestown Civic Center on a flat bed trailer with the help of Schebenke’s.

The tree was decorated in cooperation with the Jamestown City Fire Department members and their ladder truck.

No formal tree lighting ceremony is planned.
