Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown Salvation Army reports, the recent Christmas funding raising campaign, raised a total of $116,796, about $40,000 shy of its goal.
The $157,000 goal goes to operating expenses.
Major Tim Nauta says the total includes donations through the Red Kettle Campaign, along with mail and online donations, through January 3rd.
He says the short fall of around $40,000 accounts for the fact that the Jamestown Salvation Army is not going to be able to serve the area as it has.
The Salvation Army services may be cut as much as one-fourth to one-third.
Online donations can still be made through http://salvationarmynorth.org/community/ jamestown. A tax-deductible check can also be mailed or delivered to the Salvation Army, 320 1st Ave. N. For more information, contact the office at 252-0290.
