Tragedy strikes again in the Rolla area

ROLLA, N.D. (AP) — Sheriff’s officials say a man has been fatally shot while attempting to break into a home in Rolette County.

Law enforcement officers say the shooting happened at a home near Rolla about 3 a.m. Sunday. Six people, including children, were in the home when the man could be heard breaking in.

The intruder was the shot and killed. Authorities say the intruder had a weapon. It’s not know who fired the deadly shot.

Sheriff’s officials say they don’t believe the man is from the area. No other details were available.
