Fargo  (CSi)   The Giving Hearts Day online fundraising event held Thursday raised a preliminary figure of $10,614,115 through 50,908 donations at givingheartsday.org.

The news release says, official giving statistics and details will be released after all data is verified.

Contributions to 360 charitable causes participating in this year’s event surpassed last year’s $8.3 million.

The top three large budget charity fundraisers are, in projected order:
1. YWCA Cass Clay, $586,000Ov
2. Oak Grove $382,000
3. Anne Carlsen $278,000 (TIE)
3. TNT Kid’s Fitness and Gymnastics 278,000 (TIE)

In Jamestown, JRMC has reported saying they  raised $57,154.

Giving Hearts Day is hosted by Dakota Medical Foundation (DMF), Impact Foundation and the Alex Stern Family Foundation.

Unaudited figures indicate 21,800 individual donors participated, 7,262 more than in 2016.

Giving Hearts Day has now brought over $41 million to charities in North Dakota and northwest Minnesota.

Organizataions in Giving Hearts Day meet eligibility requirements, including participating in high impact fundraising training provided through Dakota Medical Foundation and Impact Foundation.

For the first time in Giving Hearts Day’s 10-year history, donors who gave on Feb. 9, 2017, had the chance to win additional money for each charity they supported.

Giving Hearts Day “Boosts” were given between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. during Giving Hearts Day. Twenty donors won a $500 boost, ten donors won a $1,000 boost and two donors won a $10,000 mega boost.

Boost awards were counted toward each charity’s Giving Hearts Day total.
