Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown City Council’s Finance & Legal, Building Planning & Zoning Committee, and Civic Center and Promotion Committee met Tuesday evening at City Hall. Council Members Phillips and Gumke were not present.
FINANCE & LEGAL COMMITTEE BUSINESS:
The committee recommends the request for permission from JSDC to hire a real property appraiser to establish the current market value of the FARRMS property owned by JSDC in Medina. The cost of the appraiser will be paid by FARRMS.
The committee recommends approval of the First Reading of an ordinance to annex the properties in conjunction with the planned road from Menards to JRMC:
- All property owned by John and Brenda Corell in the north half of Section 3, Township 139 North, Range 64 West, which has not previously been annexed
- All property within the Anne Carlson Center 2nd Addition
The committee also recommends approval of the first reading, the confirmation of the assessments for the 2016 Sidewalk, Curb & Gutter District #16-11.
Considered, then moved without recommendation the application of Buffalo Holdings, LLC for an on-off sale Beer, Wine and Sparkling Wine License at 930 25th St SW, Lot 1, Block 1, Verke Liechty Addition (Fairfield Inn).
Considered acceptance and approval of the Regional Storm Sewer Study as prepared by AE2S for the Stutsman County Water Resource Board.
The committee recommends tabling pending more information.
Informational: Application to serve on the James River Valley Library Board has been received from Roger Parsons.
Informational: Departmental and financial reports were presented.
New Building Inspector Tom Blackmore was introduced.
BUILDING, PLANNING & ZONING COMMITTEE:
Informational: Minutes of the February 13, 2017, Planning Commission Meeting was presented.
A public Hearing and Second Reading of an Ordinance to re-enact a Chapter of the City Code pertaining to Flood Damage Prevention, is scheduled for the March 6, 2017, City Council Meeting.
The committee considered the request from Icon Architectural Group for a Special Use Permit to construction the new Safe Shelter Facility on Lot D, “Crippled Children School Addition,” zoned P-O-C.
