BUCYRUS, N.D. (AP) – A benefit fund that raised $180,000 has been awarded to residents of a North Dakota town that was devastated by wildfire.
 
     Dakota Plains Federal Credit Union set up the fund for victims of the October blaze that swept through Bucyrus (boo-CY’-ruhs), located near the North and South Dakota border. The fire destroyed four homes in the town of 27 people.
 
     The fund included a grant of $40,000 from Lutheran Social Services disaster relief.
 
     Bonnie Lueck, manager of the credit union, says the money can’t replace everything, but it will residents “get back on their feet.”
 
     The fire covered more than 9 square miles and destroyed 24 structures.
