Jamestown  (CSi)  The intersection of 10th Street Southeast and 7th Avenue Southeast is being temporarily controlled by  4-way stop signs.

The Jamestown Street Department reports sometime in the 11-a.m. hour Monday a vehicle skimmed the top part of the control box above the protective guard rail on the northeast corner of the intersection, disabling the traffic signals.

The repair cost  estimated at $16,000.

The intersection will be controlled by the stop signs until further notice.

New parts have been ordered for the control box.  It’s not known how long it will take for the parts to come in, as the control box is an older unit.

Anyone with information on the hit and run accident is asked to call Jamestown Police at 701-252-2414, which is continuing with the investigation.
