(CSi)  The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports an Oakes man died after rear-ending a disc plow pulled by a tractor Saturday night near Gwinner.

39 year old Oscar Castro, was  westbbound on Highway 13. A tractor driven by 63 year old Mark Wyum,  of Rutland was traveling from a field east of Gwinner to another field west.

Castro rear-ended the disc plow, suffering fatal head injuries. He died at the scene. Wyum was not injured in the crash. The tractor and plow had the lighting to legally operate on a highway at night, which were properly functioning at the time of the crash.

The Highway Patrol continues with the investigation.
